Its cold and my car doesnt heat

Its 35 degrees outside and the engine is warmed up. The 350z will not blow hot air. HOWEVER, when I rev the engine above 3500 rpms, the car blows warm air.

I'm thinking its possibly the thermostat but would like to hear any other ideas. If its the thermostat, how difficult is that to replace?

Thanks

my car had the same exact problem i believe because there were air bubbles in the coolant and it wasnt allowing the hot coolant to get to the heater core. That was my issue i was reading that some people that were having the same problem. They fixed my by draining the coolant and refilling it, it worked ever since, I also purchased some samco hoses since they were draining it anyway.

yeap probably air in the coolant

check the reservoir and refill if necessary, you can burp the system but taking it to 3k for a couple of minutes about 5 times, then just keep an eye on the coolant making sure it does not get low and allow air back in the system

Just had the same thing happen to the girlfriends car. Took it down to my shop and replaced the thermostat. Drained and filled coolant, and well still nothing....hmmm, so it wants to play it that way huh. I noticed that once the car is warm I can feel warm/hot water going in the left side of the firewall(as your facing the car) and cold water coming out the right side. Seems right, suggestions??

AshMan is an unknown quantity at this point
There is a bleeder valve going from the heater hose up top on the left side near the battery into the firewall that you might check as well. It's a little plastic Phillips head cap that you unscrew. When fluid comes out you've purged all the air out. You might have air built up in the line causing it to not heat properly. tighten it up & see what happens. Something that Chrisaray taught me when I installed my headers. Quick, easy & saved a lot of time.
