350z vs GTO
This is a video of my first ever try at the 1/4 mile. Street tires 19's.
http://media.putfile.com/MOV00351 I had a little under 3/4 tank of fuel.

GTO stock? (besides wheels...just curious as to the comparison, since you are turbo'd)

how much does a Turbo increase your power (in terms of HP and TQ) roughly? And how much do they cost?

Did I read that correctly? The GTO did a 14.4? Must have been the LS1 stock. That car should have at least broke the 13's. Good run though, even though the Ponty got the jump on you. Yeah baby!

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government"

Oh, I didn't pay attention. You are right, the LS2 (2005-2006) is a lot faster (I've driven both 2004 LS1 and 2006 LS2....feels like LS2 has better tq curve than LS1 or maybe my butt dyno broke)
2004 LS1 = 350HP/?
2005 LS2 = 400HP/400Tq
Both easy to mod and "free mods" exist, althought I'd rather take my LS2 in a lighter car.

Yes it was the 350hp version and the guy got a great jump, i dont know if he had any mods to his but when i was next to him it sounded like he had an exhaust but i doubt anything else. I have to learn to anticipate that green light instead of going when i see it go green. It was my first ever run on a dragstrip so hopefully i can improve my technique and get better times. Here is what the sheet says:
********* 350z ----- GTO
R/T ***** .654 ----- .095
60' ***** 2.245 ----- 2.166
330 ***** 5.745 ----- 5.922
1/8 ***** 8.565 ----- 9.238
MPH ***** 86.08 ----- 74.64
1000 ***** 10.974 ----- 12.013
1/4 ***** 13.013 ----- 14.449
MPH ***** 110.33 ----- 88.98

Those are pretty bad numbers for the gto, even ls1. Auto I guess???
With those numbers, if he has any mods, they aren't helping. I drove an 06 GTO after my wreck and it was definitely a lot faster than that (6spd)

2004 Manuals should be about 13.1-13.3
2005 Manuals should be about 13 flat
(after looking through all the stock time slips on dragtime.com)
Since autos should still bring in mid 13's, I'm wondering if the guy was driving a stick and missed a shift.
P.S. If you look at the pics, some are 350Z owners ;-p

since your turbo, you should easily do mid to low 12s. just takes some practice...good job for first time though!
