SER SpecV to Brickyard Z
Hi,
This is my first post and I know thread is worthless w/o pics but its been raining past couple of days so ill have pics later on today or tomorrow. Anyway I bought an 03 Track model Brickyard 350z w/ 66k miles last month for $13.5k.Its def. an upgrade from the SER, but I do miss the light, nimble, tossable feel the SER had. The Z makes up for it with POWER and LOOKS. However there were some problems the car came with, common to the z cars.
- The hood have lots of rock chips (may need to repaint it soon)
- The Axle clicks at low speed (the car came with extended warranty so I will see if that covers it)
- The passenger side power window motor needs to be replaced (maybe warranty will cover it?)
- feathering issue, needs alignment
Other than that the car is great and I have fun driving it everyday
Here are some future mods I plan on getting in the next month or two
- Leather seats
- JWT intake
- Motordyne plenum spacer
- wheel spacer
Sorry for the long post but im bored right now : )
Thanks Everyone!

Welcome to the forum! I would think your warranty would cover all of that except maybe the axle. You got a good deal I think.

Umm.....LeMans Sunset? LOL
Congrats on your purchase. Get the Z on a track or some twisty roads and it will come alive and show you what it's all about. All of what you mentioned is fixable, most of which should be covered under your warranty. There was a TSB for the tire feathering issue so they should cover that, including changing the tires if they are to worn.
Enjoy the new car!

Thanks everyone! The guy i bought it from just got the warranty papers and will sign it off to me this weekend so i will def. try and see what it covers. Brickyardz thanks man, I've been reading a lot of your posts before my purchase and you've been very helpful in this forum. I only hope someday my BRICK will look as clean as yours lol (damn HOOD!!). Shylynn, yes LeMans Sunset is a beautiful color, I actually had the choice of that and Brick and chose the Brick primarily because it was a track model and of its rarity. I look forward to posting/reading more posts about these great cars soon! Oh i will def try to post pics up soon.

Glad my posts have help you. It helps when your Z isn't your daily driver so mine is partially clean because of that. It hasn't even been washed with soap and water in almost 3 years! It also only has 21.5K miles on it so that helps too.
I have had chips in my hood fixed before. It's not that expensive. Actually, this last time they did it for free since my car was in being repaired from an accident. The time before I think it was a couple hunderd or so.

congrats on the Z! It may not have the light nimble feeling you are use to but trust me, it will definitley prove to you that it is truly a much better handling car once as brickyard said, you get it out on some roads where you can really lay into it.
plus, if you are single this is going to increase your market value! LOL

Again thanks everyone for the welcome! I guess since the prices of the Zs are dropping so fast, more people are able to get them,...including me lol. Don't worry tho, im not one of those stupid ricer kids that will give the Z a bad name. Yes, i will be going to the dragon in Tennessee with a couple of friends so I will be able to feel the car's true potential there.Bones thanks man, Wat kind of weight reduction have u done?03 base n enthusiast are lighter tho i think? N if i could ill have a beater but I just dont have the $. I just turned 21 and going to school. It took me a year to save up for this car and paid full so right now im a lil on the broke side.

I edited your post so your pictures showed up in your post instead of as links.

yea base model is only 25 pounds lighter than the track edition... but the wheels are heavier.. and it doesn't have a lsd differential or anything .. track is the way to goo...i got exhaust.. took out everything possible inside including tools tires mats .. and i also took out the bumper beams wouldn't recommend that though.. im just a fool. i don't drive my car that often though so im not worried about it overall i think im down to about 3000 pounds i gotta get a weigh in soon...save up for that beater though.... you'll be able to appriciate the z and treat it much better.. peace man
