I came out of the mall today and there was an 8th gen Civic coupe parked next to me. Now my last car before the Z was an 8th gen. I had a Civic SI. I have to say, the Z is small in comparison to that car. I never realized it until I saw them next to one another. I like my small car. It fits like a glove.

If I had the money, we'd go to MSR Houston & see how the 2 car's matched on a road course. You should read up on 350Z's.
Coming into a forum with a handful of posts & dissing the community the forum is made for isn't cool. I'm not a bench racer. Bench racing is stupid in my estimation unless you're doing 300+. Plus the Z isn't made for straight line racing, It's made for the corners.
I can't vouch for Enthuzast cause he never hangs out with us, but we respect all different makes & models.
As far as calling it cute cause it's a small car... it weights like 300 pounds less than a 03 cobra & about a foot shorter... so... you're not that much bigger & you have a supercharged V8. You have to admit that Nissan does a good job with getting a V6 to perform up there with a Ford V8 no?

Don't sweat him , Ash....I think he just came over here to mess with us cuz he doesn't feel wanted wherever it was he came from.
Probably svtperformance.com....LMAO!
If it's a challenge you want, Smooth, come on out to Lime Creek road in Austin and we'll gladly film you struggling to keep up with 350Z's and my lowly Toyota!

I shouldn't have to explain this, but there are tones you use in a forum, that when read, people misinterpret. You start off with "uhm, I don't have one, but I think they're cute.... vroom..." I thought you were either a woman, or gay(nothing wrong with either) I'm just saying that's what you came across as when I read your post. I politely replied back since you're new, but then you said "naw I wouldn't get one"... How bout if I go to your house for dinner & we're all sitting around the table hungry. Your wife brings out some food & I say, "you know what, actually I think I'll pass". It's etiquette is all & you weren't using much.
It's a forum, I'm surprised you didn't get flamed more than that. It's similar to if I were on the freeway & you pulled up next to me wanting a race. I wouldn't pay you any mind & keep driving, but if you were to pull up & walk up to my car @ a car meet & start talking cars, truly wanting to talk about them, then you're all good. OH NO someone in a forum doesn't like your car... lol big woop.
You didn't respond to me saying that bench racing is stupid, or how the Z isn't all that small & that Nissan does a good job with a V6 compared to a ford v8... You'd be surprised how civil some of us can be talking cars... or not. It's all how you come across.
I forgot to bring this up in the last post, but my friend had a 03 mustang & she was driving along after being up for over 24 hours. She ran into the back of a truck pushing the bumper to the ground. I grabbed my car jack & started jacking it up so she could make it home & these huge pieces of Styrofoam started falling out. The entire front bumper is molded around Styrofoam. Personally I consider that all styling. It was probably a foot longer than the Z because of the foam bumper. The wheelbase on a Z is actually 3" longer than your cobra & 1.5'' skinnier.

Small as in 2 seater with a 3.5l also i dont expect everyone to like my car. different strokes for different folks. however if you step up to me and spew utter bullcrap about a car then you sure as hell better have something to back it up. you see you and me have the same problem.
As cars get older the depreciate in value. So with a sports car the average age gets lower as the cars become more affordable.I consider the z to still be fairly new car so you dont have alot of ricer tools going around proclaiming the greatness of the almighty z. . . yet(for example wrx owners are the apittamy of this ''aWd pOWnS mOOstANgs nOOB''). Mustangs are alot more plentiful and fairly cheap so you are going to meet some douchewhopper mustang owners. As your z's get older you will see a younger group of guys take your once beautiful cars and rice them out with stickers decals huge wingZ that they think gives them 100 hp with a cai. . . .
i have seen some ugly Mustangs in my day :-(

I love my Z and am very "Z Proud" but I've also been around cars most of my life and your statement regarding "It is capable of 700+ easy without major work" is VERY inaccurate. Just installing a TT setup in a Z is MAJOR work. If you really want to do it correctly and want the 700+ that you're talking about then you're talking built motor and tranny to match up with that 700+ HP. C'mon now, take a breath and think about it...

And for the record. . . 03-04 cobras can make 700rwhp without any internal engine work. all you need is a whipple and some fuel.

You see that I don't have turbo, so you challenge me. Typical Cobra owner. A F.I. V8, vs an all motor V6. GEE. I WONDER who wins on a drag. Then, people say things like "V6 sucks, should have got a V8". My car right now WILL take yours on the track. I WILL ATTEMPT the drag too. Your car....just plain wasn't made for 400 hp. Here is proof. A LOT OF PROOF. Watch me "Back up my statement." Paper don't lie. Cameras don't lie. Numbers don't lie.
MY 505WHP COBRA AND FRIENDS 450WHP COBRA 'S VS 350 - Car Videos on StreetFire
This video is a 505hp and a 450hp cobra vs a 350 Z. Guess what?
'03-'04 Cobra Tribute - Car Videos on StreetFire
Although, poorly assembled, and before you go off on me, yes, the white one is a GT at the end that is wrecked.
TT 350Z Vs. 03 Cobra 03 cobra: lower pulley, bolt - Car Videos on StreetFire
Here is what would happen to your 03 Cobra if you ran into a 350z turbo....in a drag...on the freeway.
I think that this alone proves my point. When is the last time a cobra beat a WS6? Other "muscle". The car has no league. It can't compete with cars built for drag, like the....LS1 anything. The LS2 STOCK kicks Cobra azz for $20k! (06 GTO). Also, mopars eat Cobra for breakfast. 425 hemi for the win. Also, your car can not handle the track like SVT claims either. Been proven in road and track magazine. It can not hang with others built for the track, such as the Z, which, if you do your research, the Z established a lot of track records....oh yeah....before the GTR. Now the GTR has almost all of them. Last time I checked, it beat the new Z06 on the track. Dude, you bought a car with no league. FACT. Your car can't handle 400hp on a stock rear end, while mine can handle 700. FACT. You WILL throw a rod out if you have 500hp. FACT. Your car cost you about 30k. Mine cost 15600 with 28k miles on it two years ago. FACT. With 14k in parts to make up that difference, my car would have OVER 700, while 03 Cobra is still at.... 390....FACT. SVT CUT THEIR CONTRACT WITH FORD. FACT. You are talking smack in a forum where people eat Cobras for breakfast, and Saleens for dinner with their tt Zs for HALF the price! FACT! There, I "made a statement, backed it up." The Z is a car that is affordable. Everyone can buy one. Not just an elite few who can afford a 30k price tag. Those who do, would never picture buying anything else for that price. The race is over before it even starts, man. Don't mess with the Z on the track, cuz you WILL get powned. P.S. "All racing will be done on closed course."

Fuel? WTF? DUDE! All race gas does is burn cleaner! OMG. All I need is a whipple huh. That adds 310 horsepower to the wheels? No kidding! Think I will go buy one of those so I can go race me an Enzo and win...... Someone else take over, cuz I am laughing too hard right now..... I'm done with this guy.....LOL. Is it okay if I vote for a ban on this guy?

One question before I ask you more.....why did you join a Z forum if....you don't like Zs? Makes no sense to me. Ok, now what do you not understand? Did you not read? Did you not see all of that? You are missing my point, but hey, you want to race ME just to prove a F.I. V8 is faster than a V6-with a CAI and exhaust in the quarter from a stop? When did I ever say my car was faster by the way? I just said it has more options for less money. Can get more power for less money. On the track, different story. I have been trying to go to Houston Raceway for three weeks, but I usually work 120 hours in two weeks. I'm saving for F.I. of some kind. Haven't decided. This Friday, I am going to try to be out there. I'm usually just showing, seeing as how my car is almost stock, but hey, I will go. The Z is a road racer, but I am always up for a good on the 1/4 if that would make you feel better about your car. Later, after my twins are born..... then, we can see what's really going on.
