Automatic 0-60?
What kind of times are the auto owners getting? I'm 6 months to a year away from buying a Z and plan on getting the auto. The spec won't make a difference in which one I buy. I'm just curious.

Usually, autos are .5 tenths slower then sticks...so your probably hovering around 0-60 at 5.9 to 6.1

Not this again
A stock Z is faster 0-60 with the automatic transimission. 5.4 zero to 60 and 13.62 1/4 mile is the fastest I have heard or read. Both acheived with a 5AT.
If you read further on the thread with the guy getting 14.1, there was a 6 MT that was consistantly .5 sec slower in the 1/4 than the auto. No big surpise...It was the same way with my MKIV twin turbo supra, which I had a 6MT. It was not fun watching an ato pick up a faster time slip SO now I have a 5%AT 350Z.

Cool. Thread archeology... But hey, theres not much out there about the 5AT.
Once you figure out how to shift the 5AT in manual mode, with all of the TCS/VDC off, you can get very respectable times.
I use a G-Tech that I calibrated at Houston Raceway Park to get my 0-60mph times. When my '06 5AT Z was totally stock the best 0-60mph I got was a 5.423. With all of the mods it does 5.0-5.1 consistantly. I have managed to get a 4.987 once. My typical quarter mile times are 13.3's-3.4's @ 104. My best ever run was a 13.28 @ 104.76, 8.82 1/8th mile @ 83.74, 2.1 60' at Houston Raceway Park

Yeah, I figured I'd throw it out there since there Isn't much out there on the 5AT. I'm hoping to break into the 13's. I want to do
Kinetix V+ Plenum, ECU, Throttle Body Spacer, Underdrive Pulleys, Exhaust, and a few other things and get it tuned. Hopefully I can see low 13's.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure if a 6-speed 350Z can do 0-60 in 5 seconds, than an auto 350Z should be able to do 0-60 in about 0.000003 seconds or so.
I like cheese.

With practice you should be able to get a bone stock 04.5 5AT Z int the mid 5's. Shift it manually and turn the TCS off if your car has it. You will get some wheelspin but thats OK as long as its not too much. Try left foot braking, bring RPM up to 2000-2100. Let your foot off of the brake as you roll into the throttle.
Learn to shift it manually right before it hits the rev limiter.
