Yes, the Borla is a true dual exaust from the cats back. The Y pipe is removed and there is pipe running down both sides all the way to the muffler which has dual chambers in it. There is one spot where both pipes are connected via another pipe creating what is called an H pipe because it is in the shape of an H.

I doubt your muffler has a mirror polish finish on it. It comes stock with a dull aluminum sheet metal looking finish. I polished it out myself. I would try the Mag & Aluminum Polish on the tips. I use it on mine
If you want to polish your muffler I can tell you how to do that too. It's a more involved process. I just didn't know exactly what you wanted information on.

hey brick. So i understand what a true dual exhaust is, but can you explain exactly what a Y back is? Is the Y back behind the cats? I was curious because the Indivia is like that i think..

Oh no the muffler wasn't mirrorlike, I meant it looked like yours. The tips I wanted to look mirrorlike. My installation guy already polished the muffler, but didn't get a chance to do my tips, so that's why I asked. I bought some of that mag and aluminum polish yesterday, so we'll see how that turns out. And yes, my wife, god bless her I love her so much, lost that stuff. She's really clumsy lol. I'm surprised she hasn't backed my Z into the Porsche just yet.

The stock exhaust has a Y pipe. It goes from each cat and comes into one pipe. That single pipe goes back to the muffler, usually dual chamber, and then goes out to the dual tips from the single muffler. Take a look under your Z and you will see how the exhaust is.
A Y back means all parts after the factory Y pipe. That's why some people sell after market Y pipes.
Hope that helps.

Well good luck. I hope it does what your after. I have used it to polish my rim lips, intake plenum and other aluminum parts. Don't use it on anything that is clear coated, it's not meant for that. Only bare aluminum.

I hope that works.

That sounds really good and has a solid deep burble. What are the average performance gains on them? Isn't the true dual exhausts better than just a cat back with a Y pipe (single pipe)?

Yea I totally love it. I swear if any of you buy this system you won't regret it at all.

The system I bought directly from Borla so the retail price. My guy charged me 200 for installation since I didn't have a lift or the tools. He's a pretty good guy anyway, my dad trusts him with his Porsche, so it's good enough for me.

This is the cheapest place I know of for the Borla exhaust. The Injen exhaust is also here further down the page for $809 and the Borla is $869. Better than most places.

Oh, and Amirs, $200 seems like a lot to have the exhaust installed. I only payed $90 but my neighbor owns a brake and muffler shop.

If you can take a shot while on the highway. I want to hear the exhaust and the intakes together at speed.
I think I might be getting that exhaust next spring, I really like the sound.
