Sure the Syncho-rev matching isn't for everyone, but at least Nissan is trying to keep it fresh.

Well, everyone said the GT-R transmission was awesome, and now they're breaking left and right with NO help from Nissan. I see the same happening with this crap.
I can rev-match, but it's just a waste for a street car. Can you honestly admit that you would ever actually need or use this feature? If you autox then yes, it's awesome, but other than that...who cares?

I think 0-60 in 4.7 and the quarter mile in 13.3 are plenty fast for a sports car under $40,000.
If you want much faster than that, you'll have to move up in the $70,000+ GT-R, Viper, Z06 category.
Or get a crotch rocket...

Yea a half second improvement all across the board as well as better handling are all plus signs for me. The Z isn't a drag car, there's more personality to it. It'll do more than go a 1/4 mile in so and so seconds, it's a superstar that does everything across the board.
I know it's something that isn't used as often, but if it makes street driving easier then so be it. When I don't need it I can always turn it off.

yaa thats why its all marketing ... they could easily make the 370z with at least a TT motor with loads of potential and at least 350-400hp no problem
but it would take away from the GTR sales obviously...
not saying it isn't quick..... but a 13 second car is questionable when considering how fast it is...
i know the Z isn't an all around drag car i could care less about a "number"
but i just like to have that "fast feeling" when you step on the gas....
after driving a 13 second car for a year you kinda lose that feeling...
on the other hand my civic.. everytime you step on the gas you are like holy **** lol.. it rips your face off.. its blistering... thats the kinda speed you NEVER get tired of lol

You sound like a candidate for a sportbike. Even 600s will do mid-10's these days.
Then again theres no substitute for a really fast car. I eventually want a turbo or supercharger for my Z. Can't afford it now because I just spent a bunch of $$$ getting my old skool Z painted.

Yeah they're very expensive. From what I've seen Turbonetics seem like the best deal. One of these days!!!
Yeah bikes are very dangerous....if you get one, wear all your gear!

I'm gonna be test driving a 370z later today.
You guys know my opinion won't be biased, being I don't own a 350Z anymore.
lmao.
Although I won't appreciate its 'blistering' acceleration, coming from a supra tt, I think driving the 370Z will feel a lot more nimble.
We'll see.
I'll keep you posted.

I haven't even seen a new Z yet up close, so I guess my opinion isn't worth much. But from the commercials, and the photos I have seen-it looks amazing. Those new wheels are really sharp too. From the numbers i have seen on the skidpad and 0-60, you can't get a car like that for this price. In addition, the Z turns a lot of heads-more so than a Mustang or even a Vette...Because at least where I live, the Z is pretty rare. I could go out and buy a mustang and be like every other dude on the block.
I hope to test drive one soon for kicks.

just sold my turbonetics kit man...should have picked it up...
a turbonetics z will keep right up with a 600cc rocket...i ride a gsxr-750 and i had just as much fun in my z but the gsxr-750 is quite a beast... sold the turbonetics and now im going with a t-trim vortech setup and prolly a little spray... i was sick of dealing with emissions bull **** with turbo kits throwing random codes and what not so going legal this time. . sure it don't have the potential or power the turbo kit had but it will be fun and enough and like i said i can use the spray if i go to the track or need it..
new 370 is nice i agree and the rev-match is not something thaT is a selling point for me...don't personally need it or care to have it and until the z comes out forced induction from the factory it will never be enough in stock form

Supposedly professional drivers couldn't keep up with Syncro-match, so it's not a bad thing if you aren't an expert toe-heel driver (who still can't keep up with it)...if you don't like it, just turn it off. I only used VDC when it was raining or bad weather in general....it got annoying constantly turning it off every time I got in the car, but now it's a habit in all the cars I drive.

I just went to the dealership to look at the car and wasnt very impressed/ The only nice things is the way the wheels fit on the rims, the front bumper, and how the fenders are kind of wider over the wheel wells. The rest of the car was nothing specail. It was parked next to a few 350z's and ill stick with them. the interior was also very roomy and the car in its entirety didnt seem sporty enough. Kind of a let down

That's mainly due to using the undocumented "launch mode"...although I think they should have mentioned it to the automotive press who were going on and on about it - no black box for me
