That's because those ceramic brakes have to be heated up first. On a track like NurBurgring or Laguna Seca, the 911's going to out perform the Z's brake times after a few hard stops. When it comes to highway driving and casual city driving the Z will prevail only because the ceramic needs heat.

330 flywheel horsepower, and 258rwhp? quite a bit of loss there. that seems high to me.

It is high.
And with the 135i vs the 370z. Lets not forget that the 135i is just a sport coupe, and has a back seat. It matches the Z in 0-60, 1/4 mile, braking, etc...except for the skidpad. Sorry, but considering the Z is a 2 seater sports car, and the 1 series has a back seat and isn't even meant for the track...that's pretty good in my book.

ya but for 5k more of a base price .. to some people that alot of money..
and i must say i kinda liked the 135i but alwasy liked the 335i better in apperance..
and when they show the interior and exterior shots between the 2 cars.. i really loveeeee the 370z.. 135i interior is to bmwish for me.. to bland
well 4 seats or 2 seats doesn't really determine how well a car performs anymore... look at the evo .. or hey GTR for that matter

You can get a really well equipped 370Z for the base model price of a 135i.

The one thing that I liked about the Bimmer over the 350Z, was how you can be at 5000 rpms and not even realize it. The engine is so smooth compared to the Z, you never go "what was that?" - but anyways frak that, I'll take power over refinement
Oh, and 135 and 335 ARE faster than the M3 in a straight line 1/4 mile...but the M3 handles WAAAY better...

I wouldnt ever get a bimmer. They look great, I just cant afford to fix it when it breaks...Nissan/Infiniti is the BEST..EVAR! (IMO that is)..
Did you notice that the BMW is twin turbo'd inline 6 and the Z has NO turbos and they still run the same numbers (pretty much). Sure the beamer has a back seat...but thats what the infiniti series are for.
I plan on never leaving the NISSAN family. They have by far exceeded my expectations in a car company.

I love the Nissan Family but I'm not happy with the private owned dealerships lol. They wanted 42K for a Titan.... I think it was made with platinum and 100 dollar bills... Trucks, as far as I'm concerned, I'll stick with Toyota. But everything else, like Acid said, is nis/finiti for me.

If you keep it past 50 or 100k (depending if you bought certified pre-owned or new), you will have to pay for repairs....before then everything (including brakes and windshield wipers) is covered during that period - then you dump for a new one. I won't lie, the Bimmer is fun to drive and handles great with sports/suspension package, but my 325 has NO BALLs, although sometimes it acts like it. It's a GREAT DD. I don't really do any upgrades due to warranty (I can do DINAN, but $$$)
For a track car, I'd definitely go with the Z and I prefer the heavy steering over the variable. Support car companies that still make RWD vehicles and not that FWD crap. I love them both, but whoever thinks Nissan service is better than BMW service, I'd have to object. The only reason I have a BMW is because I was going through physical therapy during the Texas heat everyday in my beater with no A/C and my replacement Z was going to take 3 months to arrive, whereas my BMW was already there. I'm getting rid of the BMW since I work from home full time and buying a C6 Z51 or 370Z for a garaged weekend only car (I'd have to wait until second year for less bugs)
I'll rock anything that's fun to drive. I have no hate for other brands, just likes/dislikes. I'm a car enthusiast. I love them all and would have a huge Jay Leno like garage if I had the $$$$

So would I. I have preferences, but I won't hate. Unless it's FWD LOL. But yea I agree that the BMW service is better. It's part of the car's price. You pay a high premium for above the bar customer service and low cost of maintenance. I was looking at an X5 before my Tundra. The thing that turns me off about my 911 and why I put the X5 bimmer off was the length of travel just to get the free service. I gotta drive 225 miles to get an oil change in phoenix lol.

You mean you can't go to Checkers or Autozone to buy your own crap to change the oil?! lol jk man. My Z is the only Nissan/Infiniti in my family. Everything else I or my parents own is either Audi or Toyota.

Ouch, my service center is 3 miles away and I get a BMW loaner to drive while they are changing oil, doing checkups....they just replaced my disks and pads, windshield wipers, full service, while I was beating on a 328 all day....drifting in the loaner....lol

I have to agree with you there...Ive heard nothing but good things about the service BMW provides. But after warranty its arms and legs for costs.. Not that Nissan is any better.. thats why I do my own work.
also I agree with the waiting (to get all bugs out)... But thats with every first year car..

Well, my maintenance and insurance rates would be very high, not counting no driveway space for the 24+ cars I've owned
Wish I had the space and money though....
