I Hate Nfsu2!!!

I was just playing Need for Speed Underground II. I've been playing 2-3 hours a day for the last few weeks, and tonight, just as I finished the last URL race in stage 5 (LAST RACE IN THE GAME) the game was saving and it hung. I got the message: 'The disc you're using might be dirty or damaged.' Oh well I thought to myself, I'll just turn it back on and go from there. Now I'm getting the message: 'Unable to load swizzle'. I've tried 10 times or so to load my career, and it's not happening.

To make a long story short, the last 40+ hours I've invested in the game are gone! I finally had a widebody Z that ran 0-60 in 3.2, and a widebody Skyline that ran 0-60 in 3.0.

I'm pissed!

P.S. Non gamers probably won't get the heartache of something like this. Gamers, you know what I'm talking about!

Off topic but is that the Nintendo Power Glove in your avatar? That thing sucked so bad! My friend had one and damn that thing didnt work for crap.

And yes I have had similar things happen to me with losing hours upon hours of hard playing time.

Way back in Vice City I was on the last mission and owned every property in the game and my brother accidentally started to save over my game and realized his mistake so he hurried up and turned it off. It just lost everything.

It sounds so stupid, but I know what you mean and it REALLY sucks. It's just a video game, but good God that was a lot of wasted time.

Yeah, I never owned the Powerglove, but I think it's radical. Check that thing out.

it sounds like you need a new playstation check your other games to see if they play because I just bought a new playstation. I was doing the same thing I bought the new THIN playstation WOOT!!

It's actually doing it on my XBOX. The thing is, I think it might be EA games. From what I can remeber it only does it with Tiger Woods 2005, and NFSU2. All my other games seem to play fine...

That's what I was thinking. I don't have one of those fancy lens cleaners so I wanted to take it apart and hit it with some compressed air. The thing is, I couldn't figure out how to get the damn thing open, there's no screws on the bottom...

Yeah after my PS2 started getting the disc read error, I started taking it apart periodically (voiding my warantee) and cleaning the eye. Then one time I accidentally crimped the power wires that go from the power and reset button to the actual console, so technically it works, I just cant turn it on. So I'm in line for a new thin PS2 and I'm just going to replace the wires on the old one and send it off to my brother at college as an early Christmas present.

Something like that happened to me with my PS2 as well. A while back when Metal Gear 2 came out I had thet game aced and saved on the memory card. I was all the way through the oil rig and on the last pylon when I came back to my game a few days later the memory card had erorr and said "Unable to format".
I was like WHAAAAAAAAAT, I just lost all that game time and had to start all over. I still have not gone back to finish it yet. Maybe
before I get Metal Gear 3.

I have a problem with my NFSU2 also.. I have completed everything on the map and there are no more circuits, sprints, drags, the X races, drifts or URLS. I got nikki cutscene and one more after that but I haven't raced the end guy but there is nothing left to do but those races you have to find and outruns.

Also my current car is a 350Z that will do 0-60 in 1.6 seconds and quarter mile in 7.68.

hey my friends PS2 deleted my entire second file and i had just readched stage4...i was so pisseed i left my mark in the hotel.....elbow+wall=dent

if you are trying to find screws on hte xbox..... (this will VOID WARRANTY)


The rubber feet on each of the 4 corners - peel them off and there is a screw underneath each of those.

There is a final screw under the holographic shiny stcker that says offial MS product, don't tamper with, etc. You have to peel this at least partly up.

If it is just your CD drive Fing up, you can buy a replacement drive on ebay for hella cheap and install it yourself.

I have xbox and for the past 4 months that has been happening to me too. It started by doing it once on madden 04. Now everynow and then when i start Madden 05 it will say that exact same message when i start it. I turn off the xbox and rub the cd and start it and its fine. ahaahh. Probably not the best method. I will never open the xbox again and if i go to play it 5 days later it will say its damaged or dirty. Also happened to me on NFSU1. so i guess it might be an EA games thing.

oh well.
