GM Recalls 2010 SS Camaro
The Grayline Blog Archive 2010 Camaro SS Recall On Battery Cable
Well, to start, I used to own a Z28, which caught fire, and blew up in my driveway. It almost killed me. However, when the dealer was informed, they stated they could not duplicate the cause of the fire. Also, a few months before then, my transmission line ruptured for "no reason". I have heard good things about the new Camaro, and francly, it tics me off. Also, GM can't make a good product. Z06s are burnin' up oil, the roof hatches are flyin' off on the targa, and now the new Camaro SS (ONLY) is randomly catching fire due to "faulty wiring". I see a trend here....my old....and the new. Some things never change.....
Oh, and I also found this forum, where a guy is talking about how he lost to a STOCK WS6 in his new SS. Then, I scroll down, and see he is NOT ALONE!!! LOL.

I just drove an automatic SS the other day. THe Automatic has the L99. I was not impressed. There is too much tranny lag and the car has a tendency to appear to be in two high a gear at low RPM. I know active fuel management kicks in and this could be what created hte lag. I wholeheartedly believe that I could hand an Auto SS it's own a55 in my Z when it wasn't running right.
On another note, I have considered a 2SS with an RS package a few times over the last year. I'll probably end up getting a 370 next.

just drove a new V6 Camaro last night. It has a lot of cool flashy stuff... but it really isn't a performance coupe. I almost laughed when I got in and I could see big bulky fenders all around me blocking my view... the 'hips' stick out like crazy in the back. Performance was very lackluster in every aspect. Without a doubt my 08 Z would destroy this thing. Also for something so bulky and heavy it had very little room inside. I was disappointed because when I read about the Camaro it seemed like GM was building a great muscle car. I don't know what this car is for, except to catch eyes.

Calm down. A v6 isnt exactly the "muscle car" version

Some of the problems you bring up were on the initial cars and have since been resolved. I know Vette owners who's roof top layer on the targa would blow off at high speeds. It was a problem with the epoxy or whatever that was used. I haven't heard of any current Vettes with this problem. The tranny is sourced from a 3rd party, which is the reason for a lot of detunes on automatics. The tranny companies sometimes can't come up with a solution in time to match the project delivery date. Grand Prix GTs had to be detuned from almost 300HP to 195 due to design flaws with the new sourced tranny. Many other manufacturers use the same trannies. My 03 350z had 4 trannies due to "design" problems. I think the 4th one solved it, but can't say for sure since I was totalled shortly into the new tranny. I could have my clutch pressed all the way to the floor and it would not fully disengage...so I had a few replacements there as well. To say GM is the only manufacturer to have it's share of problems over the last 5 or so years is far from reality. My wife's old Corolla threw a piston with only 3K miles on it and she drives like a grandma. BMW interiors and trim disenegrate quickly, Mazda has had it's problems, Ford's Magnesium bumpers would turn into an incendiary grenade, Mercedes had a quality rating lower than daewoo, etc. I've owned 3 camaros without incident (well, had an alternator go out on one). My first car was a Cavalier...POC right? Well, I drove that thing into a river...it was pulled out and started right up. 2 front end collisions...still ran like I just bought it. I did some hellish things to that POC and it just kept going. Same thing with my Grand Prix. 200K mi + beater and it's still going (and is the longest time I've ever owned a car). I have driven that thing like a rental since 98. The maf just went out recently and the crankshaft position sensor a while before. An hour (at most) for the cps and 2 mins for the maf. My wife has driven the thing without any oil because she doesn't understand warning lights after an oil change...still running fine after putting a drain plug and filling it up. Name a car maker that has never had significant issues.

I traded my 06 GTO that was 520 at the crank. Wound up scaring the s%&@ out of the wife one day when I forgot to click TC back on at about 50 mph. After that she would never ride in the car again. Hence the Z. I love the Z but I do miss the HP in the LS2. Wish I could post the youtube burnout I did but I'm at work. Anyone link the burnout off of you tube? It's under GTO sarge.

I attached this because I p*ssed myself when I read this. Here is a list of the recalls and TSBs for the 2008 CORVETTE. It is retarded.....
Automotive Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins for 2008 Chevrolet Corvette V8-6.2L. Provided by ALLDATA
TSB Results : ODI - Office of Defects Investigation
I don't like chevrolet anymore. When a car almost kills you, you just can't help it. Of the American car rivalry.....I can't believe I am about to say this, but I would rather drive a new Mustang GT over the new Camaro. At least Ford's defects kill the car itself, not the people in them. But, I have a Z, which to me, is better all around.

That is completely voluntary. Look at the 2003 350Z on alldata...it's not as long but pretty extensive. Should I go with the Subaru since they publish less TSBs by nature? (but void your warranty if you put a K&N drop-in filter)

That's me. The day I picked it up after the build. Thanks. And no the HC spot was not intentional. Mistake on my part. That's funny that several people have mentioned that to me and I really wasn't paying attention at the time. My bad.
Although I can attest there were no HC people looking for a spot the next 10 minutes it was there. No excuse for me parking there. They actually had the car parked there when I went to pick it up and do the first test drive.

No, with the name sarge, didn't know if you were a disabled vet (I'm former USMC) or if you just mistakenly backed into it. I didn't think you parked there on purpose if you weren't disabled since there were empty spots next to it

Ah yeah and people wonder why americans started loving imports... Gee for me it was when my 84 Fiero (Fuk off it was cool back in the day! ) caught fire while driving it and burned to ground at stop light!!! Although to be fair my 84 Nissan 300ZX Turbo also caught fire because of a leaky injector. I was able to save it because I saw the smoke coming out of the hood scoop! Yes... Hood scoops do save lives! I think Nissan's superior engineering put that scoop there for a reason.. To warn a brutha in case sht happens LOL
