Pros:

Aggressive sound at WOT, fairly easy to install
Cons:
Difficult to remove filter for cleaning

CAVEATS:
This is my first mod install, first time taking a wrench to a Nissan, and first product review. Considering me a newbie would not be an insult. I got this intake from a member on one of these sites for $65 shipped (it had been used for 3 months). The entire installation took me around 2 hours.
INSTALLATION:
I used the superb installation instruction located at DeepStaged.net. It includes step-by-step instructions and pictures for each step. If the site is down, please contact me and I can get you the info.
Following those instructions, I only had 1 issue. Towards the end of the install when you need to get the lower tube inserted down behind front fender, you need to slightly move some electrical wires in order for the tube to fit. The instructions muddled that part but once you see where the tube will be going, it\'s easy to figure out what needs to be moved aside. No biggie but it did slow me down.
Removing the stock airbox and tubing was extremely simple. In fact, the overall install was REALLY easy but a few things were troublesome. Moving those wires was tough because they were all tied down to the car frame tightly. Additionally, installing the filter was tough since I did not have my car jacked up. After removing the splash-guard in front of the driver\'s front wheel, you can get both hands and the filter up and connected to the tube but it was entirely by feel, not sight. The filter went on easily but tightening the screw on the clamp by feel was a challenge.
And knowing that I will need to redo that part to remove/clean the filter won\'t let me rate this more than an 8. I’m not at all looking forward to the next time I need to clean the filter.
PERFORMANCE:
I was concerned that performance mods that only provide a few HP difference would be unnoticeable. I mean, can you really tell the difference between 287HP and 290HP? Maybe you can. I\'ve been noticing that through the mid-to-high RPM range the car seems to pull VERY strong. I did reset the ECU during the install so that may be a factor but I do think the intake has improved the pull from 4500RPM onward.
Additionally, the intake provides the familiar intake whistle (noticeable but not excessive) as well as an insanely throaty sound at WOT. During fast acceleration all you hear is the whistle. But at full-on WOT, the resonance of the air in the intake tube makes my car sound like it has an aftermarket exhaust. I love it! It\'s really aggressive and mean sounding but if you don\'t want to hear it, don\'t floor the pedal. It\'s like an on/off switch based on how you\'re driving.
SUMMARY:
So is this worth the $250 or so? I got mine insanely cheap so I dunno. This is my first mod that has impacted performance so I can\'t say with certainty if this is any better than something like the JWT Popcharger or Nismo CAI.
I am extremely pleased with the AEM CAI and will definitely be enjoying it. If you can get a good deal on it, I say go for it! And feel free to contact me with questions or comments re: this review.

Pros:

nice sound, made \"feel-able\" power
Cons:
can\'t get to the filter, rainy weather with after market front bumper cover
This seemed to be the most R and D\'d intake available at the time. No problems thus far, the filter is a little hard to get too, but overall a very good product.

RAIN......anywhere near the filter....you aren't going very far.....
First thing is first....I paid $100 for mine, including shipping, new, in the box, on ebay on an auction nobody bid on. Second, there is no way I would pay the $300 for this. If it rains, you are screwed. Will cause your motor to sputter. Think about it before you buy it. Also, there is a thing that is called a pop charger you should check out before this. Only would recommend to someone without a daily driver.
